A pre-AGM stroll: Theale to Reading, 6.6 miles, leisurely

Today's walk prior to the Berkshire Walkers AGM will take us from Theale to Reading via the Kennet & Avon Canal. Starting at Theale station, we'll walk along the main road towards the canal, which you turn left onto towards Reading. Once in Reading, we’ll continue along the canal to pass some industrial estates to take us to The Oracle. At this point, we'll then walk through the grounds of Reading Minster and the High Street towards Reading station. After the walk, you're invited to attend the BW AGM, which takes place at RISC, London Road between 14:00 and 16:00. This'll then be followed by a post-AGM social at The Three Guineas located within Reading station. Ascent: 10.1m / 33ft Type: linear TRAINS: If you're travelling from Reading, the recommended train to get is the 10:12 GWR service that arrives in Theale at 10:20. If you're travelling from Newbury, the recommended train to get is the 10:08 GWR service that arrives in Theale at 10:22. PARKING: Theale station has a good size car park, where parking fees apply. Please note, that this is a linear walk, so you'll have to travel back to Theale afterwards. DOGS: Dogs are allowed on this walk as long as they're well behaved.
