About a 5 mile moderate pace hike along The Maurice River. The preserve was the site a granary and a sand mining operation. The sand mining lasted 50 years until 1950. There are large sand depressions and mounds. There will be many ups and downs and evaluation changes. And several hundred steps to go up and down with nothing to hold on to. Wear sturdy boots and bring walking poles. Bring a snack, drink and lunch.
Arrive 15 minuets early to sign in. Dress for a wind chill from the river.
There may be a potty in the parking lot.
The preserve is 3 miles south of Rt. 49 in Millville. Parking is one way in and one way out.
