✝️🎬 THE EXORCIST: EXTENDED DIRECTOR'S CUT (35MM GRAINY PRESENTATION)

🛌 I’ve never had what I would call a religious experience. Yet I do believe in God because of all the darkness I encountered. And so I ran to the light to extricate my soul. JH 👋 Alright you guys! I’ve been watching horror films all my life and nothing much scares me anymore. But when it comes to this movie, it either hits the mark or it doesn’t, and that really depends on your sensibilities and core beliefs. Now, growing up in a religious environment and attending all-boys Catholic schools, you can probably imagine why this is one of those films I would never watch alone. You may need to hold my hand for this one. The film was directed by William Friedkin and adapted from William Peter Blatty’s novel, which itself was inspired by a real-life exorcism in America. This case became known as the exorcism of Roland Doe, a name used to protect the identity of the boy involved. What happened during that exorcism continues to raise questions to this day. The plot of this landmark 1973 horror film follows a desperate mother trying to save her 12-year-old daughter from a terrifying demonic possession. But this disturbing story did not just end on screen. Over the years, the production itself also gained an almost legendary reputation for being allegedly cursed. Then at 8:15 pm, we’ll head over for the 8:30 pm screening of The Exorcist in its purest form. You’ll find me in seat A6 if you’d like to join me there.
