We're going to see NAZA, from Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the award winning directors of No Other Land.

"We made this film out of a sense of obligation to use our position as Israelis to examine the systems behind the mass killing of Palestinian civilians for which our country is responsible.
The film lets us explore something deeper than we could in our investigative journalism alone: not only the words being said but also those that are not said, the silence. It is up to all of us to break that silence."
— Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor

We'll meet in the Watershed cafe/bar from 5:30 pm, to say hello and chat.

This screening will be introduced by Bristol Doc Club. There will be a Doc Club discussion afterwards – everyone welcome.

Purchase your own ticket from the box office or online.

ABOUT THE FILM

"In secret conversations on the rooftops of Tel Aviv at night, the systems behind Israel’s mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza are revealed by the people who designed and operated them."
— Watershed Summary

"Brutally hard viewing."
— Danny Leigh, The Financial Times

"I've watched NAZA twice now, both times in a state of quiet horror and fury -- and with enormous admiration for Abraham and Szor's courage in holding their government to account. My admiration extends to the unerring precision of their filmmaking."
— Justin Chang, NPR

"It's also a reminder of the singular power of eyewitness testimony and how the act of speaking about our lives is one way we collectively try to make sense of the past, present and future. We speak, and hope that others listen."
— Manohla Dargis, The New York Times

"As a work of cinema, it is exemplary. As a work of journalism, it is inarguable. As a document, it is an indictment."
— John Bleasdale, Time Out

"NAZA is meant to be intolerable, but it’s also meant to state a truth many still do not wish to acknowledge, especially in our divided and fact-impaired times."
— Jordan Mintzer, The Hollywood Reporter
