Join the Sundays at 10 Hiking Series as we hike to First Creek. Rumor is there is always water, even if it's just a little bit. I am hoping the recent rain was enough to see a waterfall.

This is a scenic hike of about 3.8 miles with an elevation gain of 446'. We will hike through the open desert for about a mile before entering the canyon. There is no scrambling, but there may be a few large rocks we will have to boulder over along the way. We will descend down to the creek for some pictures and to hang out. There is a way to get to the rocks at the top of the waterfall for our adventurous hikers.

Terrain & Scenery: This is a typical trail with dirt and loose rocks. We will have mountain views as we trek across the desert. The canyon may be dry from the summer but there will be trees and (hopefully) water.

Trail Type: In and Out

Parking: There is a dirt lot at the trailhead and parking along the shoulder. This is a popular trail, so please give yourself time to find parking.

Directions: If you put "First Creek Trailhead" in your navi, you should find us.
Drive past the Red Rock Entrance for about 4 miles. The trailhead is on the right. For those coming from Blue Diamond Road, once you turn onto Red Rock Canyon Rd., drive 6.4 miles to the trailhead on the left.
Look for me next to my white Honda CRV.

This is a group hike led at a social pace to encourage conversation, connection, and meeting new people while enjoying the outdoors. We'll take breaks as needed, stay together as a group, and focus on having a fun, welcoming experience rather than hiking for speed. Whether it's your first time joining the Sundays at 10 Hiking Series or you're a regular, everyone is welcome!

^^^^Group sizes are limited in and around Red Rock per BLM guidelines. If you have 3 no shows or late cancels (less than 24 hours) you will automatically be waitlisted for future hikes.^^^
