Sugar Loafs 8 Loop

Rescheduling this hike after having to cancel in August. Meeting at the car-park in Kilmacanogue this is a alternative route around and to the summits of the Great and Little Sugar Loafs. Most people climb the Great Sugar Loaf from the car-park on the western side, but we will follow an alternative route through native forest and moorland before starting to ascend on the southern side and ultimately joining onto the main ascent. We then come down and cross over the N11 to go up the Little Sugar Loaf. Route is about 13km long with an ascent of 660m. Steep towards the top of the Great Sugar Loaf but hopefully rewarded with magnificent views across Wicklow and out onto the Irish Sea. There is usually ample parking in the car park and the route is also accessible by public transport as both the 45A and Wexford Bus stops at Kilmacanogue. Hope we can get a few folk out for this one.
