Hosted by Scenic Walks in the Chilterns

This is a stunning walk through the valley floor of Aldbury and onto the wide path of Duncombe Terrace on the way to the famous view point at Ivinghoe Beacon. There's also an optional meal after (see this Meetup event). We'll be walking up the beacon the back way, which is an easier way up, having arrived at it down the steps at Wards Hurst Farm through the unusual wood there. A classic walk with all kinds of different scenery. Distance approx. 6.7 miles. Walking time about 2.75 hours. Please note the slightly earlier than usual start time.
The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.
After the walk there's the option of staying for a chat and drink at the Church Farm Café in the village. We have also booked a table for lunch at the Church Farm Café for 2pm - if you wish to have lunch with us you will need to book via this Meetup event.
Free Parking
There's plenty of free parking in the village.
Travelling from London / by Train
There is now a new, on-demand bus service called HertsLynx which runs from all three nearby train stations; Berkhamsted, Tring and Hemel Hempstead. Depending on availability, you can book in advance to get from these stations to many of the walk start points for £3 each way.
The HertsLynx app is free and the service stops right outside the Greyhound Inn / opposite the pond. Nearest train station is Tring.
