Join us for the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam Dutch Premiere screening of Everest: The Other Side. A gripping and deeply emotional documentary that follows mountaineer Jim Morrison as he attempts to complete the dream he once shared with his late partner, legendary climber Hilaree Nelson. After Nelson's tragic death in an avalanche in Nepal in 2022, Morrison sets out to ski down Mount Everest's rarely attempted north face, one of the most dangerous challenges in modern mountaineering. More than an adrenaline-filled adventure, the film explores themes of grief, resilience, partnership, and the personal cost of pursuing extraordinary ambitions. Directors Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, known for the Academy Award-winning Free Solo, bring stunning cinematography and powerful storytelling to a real-life journey where every decision can mean the difference between life and death. The film offers a rare look at the risks faced by climbers and Sherpas alike, raising important questions about human limits, responsibility, and why people continue to chase seemingly impossible dreams.

Following the screening, there will be a special Q&A session with the filmmakers.
