AAA Hiking is going back to the Winter Slovakian Tatras!
Come to enjoy walking in the snow, winter silence and snowy mountain landscapes. Every day we will walk 6-10 km exploring the Tatra Mountains - the smallest mountain range in the world with an alpine character, but still pretty fascinating.
We will be based in a ski resort, where you can spend the day as you like and hit the local slopes.
Strbske Pleso is one of the most popular areas in Slovakia for cross-country skiing (XCS), and we’ll have the opportunity to explore it together.

LOCATION
We are based in Štrbské Pleso, nestled at 1,355 m above sea level in the Tatra Mountains. Štrbské Pleso is a charming ski resort village set beside its namesake glacial lake. Surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery, it is one of the most popular destinations in the High Tatras—perfect for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those looking to relax in a truly picturesque setting.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING (XCS)
If you're new to cross-country skiing, don't worry! There are beginner-friendly sections where you'll have plenty of snow coverage for both classic and skating skiing. The best way to get comfortable is by skiing at least twice. One session may not be enough to feel fully confident.
Rental and Guidance: If you’d like to rent equipment, we suggest doing so in advance to avoid waiting in lines. Our partner will help you select the right equipment and provide guidance on how to use it. For 20 euros per set, you can rent equipment and receive assistance with techniques and the ski area rules.

ALPINE SKIING
If you're interested in alpine skiing, this is also available in the village near the cross-country skiing area. The cost of lift passes depends on when you purchase them, ranging from 39 euros online (after registration) to 54 euros at the ticket office for one adult per day. Rental and ski school services are available directly in the area, though we won’t be organising these, so please inquire locally if you’re interested.

SIGHTSEEING
We will visit Stary Smokovec, the Ice House with illuminated ice sculptures in a dome.

Thu 21/01
9 Transfer to Stary Smokovec for a funicular ride to Hrebienok - an easy option. Hike up for energetic walkers, gaining 250 m of ascent to Hrebienok at 1285 m for stunning views & a walk around:
Studený Potok waterfalls (1,247 m) - Reinerova mountain hut (1,290 m) & visit Ice House.
