Happy Halloween! Come enjoy a haunting hike before your spooky get-togethers. Costumes and accessories are encouraged but not required. 😄

One of my personal favorite year-round hikes, Dry Creek Falls is relatively quiet compared to other hikes in the Gorge. The forest and the waterfall are so beautiful at this time of year.

Please arrive in time for a prompt 9:30am departure after brief introductions. Expect a steady pace of around 2.5-3mph throughout the hike. This is a moderate hike, gaining a most of the elevation in 1.5mi. We’ll plan to arrive back at the trailhead at around noon, depending on the group’s pace. There will be an optional stop for food and drinks in Cascade Locks once we’re done with the hike. 🍔

Bring: Trail shoes (boots, trail runners, etc.) with good tread, weather-appropriate clothing (I highly recommend gloves and a hat if it’s cold/rainy), plenty of water, snacks, and a waterproof layer.

🐕 Dogs are welcome on this hike! Please keep all dogs leashed, and do not bring any dogs that are aggressive towards people or other dogs.

The trailhead has a recently built parking lot that is fairly large. If you choose to drive, a valid NW Forest Pass, or payment of the $5 day use fee is required to park. Heads up, if you’re paying the day use fee, it needs to be done ahead of time, since there’s nowhere to pay at the trailhead.
Carpooling is always encouraged and can be arranged in the comments.

My goal is to ensure that all attendees have a safe and enjoyable experience, but please be aware that I am a volunteer host and not a professional guide. By attending this hike, you acknowledge that you are accepting sole responsibility for your own safety and well-being. Please come prepared, know your own limits, and hike at your own risk.
