London Loop No 12 - Uxbridge to Harefield West

We will be walking section 12 of the London Loop, from Uxbridge to Harefield West. The London Loop is an orbital walk almost completely encircling Greater London, nearly 150 miles long split into 24 sections. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/walking/loop-walk Starting from just outside Uxbridge station on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly line, we will walk along the grand union canal alongside the lakes of Colne Valley Country Park, underneath the HS2 Colne Valley viaduct and pass by several scenic locks and waterside features. We will be walking for just over two hours with a ten minute break around half way through. Some of the pathways can get muddy after heavy rain so please bear this in mind. I'll look to cancel the walk a day or two before if the weather is forecast to be bad, please keep an eye on the comments here. Near the end of the walk at around 1pm I am planning to head to a local pub in Harefield called the Coy Carp, which serves a range of food including Sunday roast and other traditional pub fare. From here, there is a further twenty-minute walk to the nearest bus stop for onward travel back into central London. The two options are a bus journey to Heathrow Airport for bus/Piccadilly/Elizabeth line connections, or another bus that is approximately 20 minutes to Northwood station on the Metropolitan line. The frequency of both buses is approximately every 30 minutes on Sunday. If you are interested in coming along to the pub at the end please indicate in the comments. We will meet just outside the town centre exit to Uxbridge station for 10:45. Please note, Uxbridge station is usually served by the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines, but only the Metropolitan line will be running on Sunday 27th. Unless there is a transport issue affecting everyone, we will aim to start off the walk promptly at 11am.
