Join us for a lovely 🍂 Autumn walk along the Oak Trail, exploring ancient woodland and open countryside. 🌿🦌

⭐ Five mile circular guided walk through Epping Forest and the surrounding countryside.

⭐ Meet outside Theydon Bois Tube station — Central line — at 11.30am.

⭐ Discover the history of Theydon Bois and Epping Forest, enjoy its flora and fauna, visit Ambresbury Banks, and look out for a herd of deer! 🦌🐦

🏹 Ambresbury Banks
Explore the remains of an Iron Age hill fort covering approximately 11 acres. According to local legend, this was the site of Boudicca’s last stand against the Romans in AD 61.

🐎 A forest of highwaymen and legends
Epping Forest was also a haunt of the notorious 18th-century highwayman Dick Turpin. Stories tell of a secret forest hideaway known as “Turpin’s Cave”, where he took refuge from capture.

🍽️ After the walk
We’ll head to The Bull, or Queen Victoria lovely cosy pubs, for drinks and food. 🍻

⭐ Please wear suitable footwear and dress for woodland paths and uneven ground, which may be wet or muddy. 🥾🍂
