Regent's Park: Baker Street to St. John's Wood

Some have built MVPs, tested products, or even pitched to investors. Others may have taken an idea as far as a conversation with trusted friends -- or ChatGPT. This walk is about the ideas that didn’t work. Bring an abandoned startup idea, a side project that went nowhere, a product nobody wanted, or simply something you seriously considered but ultimately decided not to pursue. What was the idea? How far did you take it? What did you discover? And, looking back, why didn’t it work? Let’s swap stories, lessons, and perhaps a few ideas worth revisiting. 📜 Plan 18:30 - Baker Street Station We meet outside Baker Street Underground Station, under the statue of Sherlock. 18:40 - Regent’s Park After brief introductions, we head along Marylebone Road towards York Gate and enter Regent’s Park. We make our way north towards the Boating Lake, crossing a small bridge before joining the Inner Circle. From there, we continue through the park, passing the Open Air Theatre, the Japanese Garden and St John’s Lodge. The pace will be deliberately easy: the walk is really a backdrop for good conversations rather than an exercise session. 19:30 — Regent’s Canal We leave the park near the distinctive floating pagoda of Feng Shang Princess and head down to Regent’s Canal. We join the towpath and stroll west towards St John’s Wood. Along the way, we’ll catch glimpses of London Zoo from the canal before leaving the towpath and making our way towards the station. There will be opportunities along the route for refreshments and public toilets. 20:00 — St John’s Wood We arrive at St John’s Wood Underground Station, where the walk ends. We go rain or shine, so bring a bottle of water, optional snacks, umbrellas and anything else that will help you walk for 3-4 miles. P.S.
