Ready for a varied gravel adventure right on Vienna’s doorstep? This roughly 60-kilometer loop connects the Donau-Radweg with the Marchfeldkanal-Radweg and various field and farm roads in the nearby Weinviertel region, featuring a short but challenging climb up the Bockberg and rewarding you halfway through with a magnificent panoramic view. Grab your gravel or mountain bikes—riding fun at a brisk group pace is guaranteed on the gravel and farm roads off the beaten path.
🚴♂️Route:
The adventure begins right at the bike rental shop at CopaBeach, from where we’ll start off at a leisurely pace on the flat Donau-Radweg. At Strebersdorf, we’ll turn onto the idyllic Marchfeldkanal-Radweg and follow the waterway all the way to Gerasdorf, then head toward Seyring on wide dirt roads. Shortly after that, the day’s physical challenge awaits, as we head up the Bockberg to tackle the only significant climb of this tour. Once at the top, we’ll take a well-deserved 10- to 15-minute break, catch our breath, and enjoy the fantastic view stretching far across the Vienna Basin.
After the break, the descent takes us along varied country roads and farm trails down toward Bockfließ. From there, the route takes us on through Deutsch Wagram and the quiet village of Aderklaa, as we cover kilometer after kilometer at a brisk pace of 21 to 23 km/h. We finally reach the grand finale of the tour with the finish line in the modern Seestadt district, where the U2 subway line awaits those who no longer feel like riding the rest of the way home.
