Stadtmuseum and Gesolei

Hi everyone!

For the first event of our group, I’d like to start with something easy, relaxed, and enjoyable.

We’ll meet at the Düsseldorf Stadtmuseum, a museum dedicated to the history of the city. There is currently a particularly interesting exhibition about the GESOLEI exhibition of 1925, one of the most important architectural and cultural events in Düsseldorf’s history.

After visiting the museum , we’ll take a walk to the former GESOLEI exhibition grounds. Some of the original buildings are still standing, and we’ll explore the area between the Tonhalle and the Kunstpalast to discover traces of this fascinating chapter in the city’s history.

Moreover entrance to the museum on Sunday is free of charge.

To round off our afternoon, we’ll enjoy a coffee together at the elegant Anna Maria restaurant, located in a wing of the former exhibition complex.

This first event is meant to be a relaxed opportunity to meet new people, exchange ideas, and share our interest in architecture, art, history, and the city around us.
