Come out for a trip to Humpback Mountain!

Distance: 4 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,700 ft.
Difficulty: Hard

With clouds and maybe rain scheduled to roll in for most of the weekend, let’s squeeze in a short hike before things get dreary. Maybe you think you’ve done all the I-90 hikes, but have you tried Humpback Mountain? I haven’t. This route is short but quite steep, cutting right up the ridge to the summit. The lower portion follows an old forest road where amateur geologists are known to hunt for gems and minerals. Once we start uphill, expect a rough, old mailbox-style trail with some occasional light scrambling and boulder fields near the top (class 2). If we stick to it, we should reach the top in no time and maybe we’ll be able to enjoy some views of Snoqualmie Valley and maybe Mt. Rainier.

Bring plenty of food, water, sunscreen, and some warm clothes. The weather is expected to be sunny in the morning, but chilly. Be ready in case of unexpected wind or rain.

Riders should give $15-20 to their drivers for gas. Bring a plastic bag to place your boots in after the hike. The road is a little rough, so SUV is recommended.

Important: I am not a guide and this is not a guided trip. You and yourself alone are responsible for your own safety. Please know your abilities before signing up.
