As a writer, you want to move your readers—but your work's emotional
impact is not a given. It’s the result of a complex transfer of energy, from
writer to story to reader. Guided by examples from all genres of literary art,
inspired by dancers whose very language is movement, and drawing from
her new book for writers, "Crafting Story Movement: Techniques to Engage
Readers and Drive Your Novel Forward," former dance critic and longtime
developmental editor Kathryn Craft will share her perspective on how your
novel can offer your reader the emotional experience they seek.
Kathryn Craft, a developmental editor for 20 years, is the author of a
writing guide, "Crafting Story Movement," as well as two book club novels
from Sourcebooks, "The Art of Falling" and "The Far End of Happy." Her online program, Your Novel Year, enters its 10th year in January.
