Join us as we focus on an older literary favourite, The English Patient, Michael Ondaatje’s Booker Prize-winning novel, published in 1992, and its Oscar-winning 1996 film adaptation.
Set against the backdrop of World War II, the story explores love, loss, identity, betrayal and the lasting impact of war.
We’ll be comparing the book and film, discussing the characters, their relationships and how the story differs between the two. Which version tells the story more effectively?
Whether you preferred the book or the film, loved both or had mixed feelings, we’d love you to join us for another lively discussion!
🎬 The 1996 film is available to watch on Crave.
