Signal Knob Circuit Hike (rescheduled)

This is a very pleasant and moderately strenuous circuit hike of a little over 10 miles and 2000 feet of elevation gain. About an hour and a half drive nearly due west of D.C., Signal Knob served as a lookout and signaling outpost during the Civil War. For us, it will be the perfect spot to stop for lunch and enjoy the view. We'll meet at 8:30 a.m. to form our carpool in the East Falls Church Metro Kiss & Ride lot. We’ll make a pit stop at the Sheetz in Gainesville, VA where you can pick up lunch or a snack. On our return trip, we'll make an optional stop for dinner or drinks at the Apple House or another spot of our choosing. We should make it back to East Falls Church by about 6:30 p.m., with or without the optional stop. In addition to your hiking gear and plenty of water, please bring $5 for the Adventuring Trip Fee and a $10 carpool fee for your driver. Please click here to review our release form.
