October's book is Queen Esther by John Irving.
🗓️ Date & Time: SUNDAY November 1, 3 PM
📍 Location: Ms Marji's Cafe ☕️ 1640 Logan St Denver CO
Esther Nacht is born in Vienna in 1905. Her father dies aboard the ship to Portland, Maine; her mother is murdered by anti-Semites after they arrive. Dr Larch can't find any family who'll adopt this Jewish girl. Queen Esther is not just a story of survival; it is a profound exploration of coming of age, finding identity, belonging, and the impact history has on our personal lives.
Join us SUNDAY November 1 to discuss the "richly textured... unforgettable characters, vivid settings, and familial love that will stay with you long after you put the book down" (The Jewish Book Council).
PLEASE NOTE that we are meeting on SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1 thanks to Halloween 🎃 👻 being on Saturday.
