An old riverside village. A winding river. Ancient woodland. A hidden waterfall.
Join us for a beautiful autumn adventure through one of the quieter corners of the Wye Valley.
ποΈ BROCKWEIR
We'll begin in the historic riverside village of Brockweir, once a busy trading port on the River Wye.
From here we'll follow the river towards Bigsweir Bridge, before heading into the woodland and joining sections of the historic Offa's Dyke Path. π²π₯Ύ
π BIGSWEIR BRIDGE
We'll pass beneath the impressive old bridge before heading deeper into the surrounding woodland, with autumn colours, peaceful trails and beautiful valley scenery along the way. π
π¦ CLEDDON FALLS
Hidden in the woodland above Llandogo, Cleddon Falls should be spectacular in November, surrounded by golden, copper and red leaves.
We'll stop to enjoy the waterfall before continuing through the woodland towards Llandogo. ππ
π‘ LLANDOGO
We'll descend into the historic village of Llandogo, associate, before hopefully finishing at The Sloop Inn for a well-earned drink and some food. π»π₯§. If the bus times don't work out at the time of finishing the walk we head back to Chepstow.
π₯Ύ THE WALK
Brockweir β Bigsweir Bridge β Cleddon Falls β Llandogo
π 8β10 km
β±οΈ Around 3Β½β4 hours
π² Moderate
Expect woodland climbs, uneven paths and slippery sections near the waterfall.
Good walking boots are essential.
π FOOD & DRINK
Please bring a packed lunch, plenty of water and snacks for the walk.
We'll hopefully have the opportunity for a drink and some food at The Sloop Inn at the end of the walk. π»
π DRIVING?
If you're driving, you're very welcome to meet us directly in Brockweir at the start of the walk.
Once we finish in Llandogo, drivers can either:
π Catch the bus back to Brockweir, or
π₯Ύ Continue walking and make their own way back.
This gives drivers a bit more flexibility depending on how they feel at the end of the walk.
