Does democracy have any flaws?

Dear all, As in Sweden we have elections the coming weekend - I think it is interesting to reflect on democracy - a fundament of free society - as majority believes in the Western World. Does democracy have any flaws? Can democracy be improved or is it "well-done" as it is? What improvements could be made? Is there a way to detect "false" promises ahead of time? What makes a politician or leader reliable? Do you believe or suspect or ever observed a "mass-manipulation" even in democratic systesms? Why people sometimes choose to vote "not for" but "against - no matter for what"? How can this be regulated? Please bring your questions! Vilija and the team ..... When groups get bigger than 7-8 people, it’s important that we break into smaller groups.
