“My anger is likely to do me more harm than your wrong.” Seneca
The Stoics described the emotion of anger as a temporary madness which is entirely self-destructive, hence they identified it as one of the greatest barriers to achieving a flourishing life. Fortunately they also provided plenty of advice and practical exercises to cure ourselves of anger.
This month we ask what is Stoic anger management and does it really work? Can we truly rid ourselves of all feelings of anger and is it healthy to do so? Are there ever instances when anger is appropriate, or even necessary?
We invite you to join us for a lively discussion about Stoic principles and practice, and how they can help us to live a good life. All are welcome, whether you are well versed in Stoicism, a Stoic novice, or are simply curious to learn more.
