A COMMUNITY SING!

Come sing, improvise, play, and make music with us!
Our Community Sings bring together people who love to sing for an afternoon of harmony, rhythm, improvisation, laughter, and spontaneous music-making. You don’t need to prepare anything, learn songs ahead of time, or worry about getting it “right.” We’ll create the music together in the moment.
You’ll be guided by an experienced team of Atlanta-area singers, song leaders, improvisers, and musicians: Elise Witt, Don Milton, Travis McAfee, Gayanne Geurin, and Diane Eaton. Collectively, they bring decades of experience leading community singing, vocal improvisation, ensemble music, and participatory music-making—and, just as important, they know how to create a welcoming space where people can relax, experiment, listen, contribute, and have fun.

Throughout the afternoon, we may explore layered vocal patterns, grooves, harmonies, call-and-response, improvised songs, and other ways of making music with nothing but our voices. Sometimes the whole room is singing; sometimes smaller groups or individual voices emerge. No two Community Sings are ever quite the same!
This is not a performance and there is no audience. It’s about the pleasure of singing together and discovering what can happen when a roomful of voices begins listening and responding to one another.
If you enjoy singing and are curious about making music in a more playful, spontaneous way, come join us.
