Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
"Marianne Dashwood wears her heart on her sleeve, and when she falls in love with the dashing but unsuitable John Willoughby she ignores her sister Elinor's warning that her impulsive behaviour leaves her open to gossip and innuendo. Meanwhile Elinor, always sensitive to social convention, is struggling to conceal her own romantic disappointment, even from those closest to her. Through their parallel experience of love—and its threatened loss—the sisters learn that sense must mix with sensibility if they are to find personal happiness in a society where status and money govern the rules of love." - Good reads
I’m new in town and want to create a cosy, friendly space for myself and others to meet new people and hopefully make friends. The idea is a small, welcoming English-language book club that meets on weekends at different cafés around Graz, with a focus on books written by women (those who identify as women). The goal is simple: good books, good coffee, and good conversation.
Come along if you enjoy:
thoughtful book discussions
discovering places around Graz
meeting new people in a relaxed setting
Location: potentially Cafe Kai 36, Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai 36, 8010 Graz
Time: 11:00 am
When: Sunday 15th November
Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or gender.
Looking forward to meeting fellow readers!
