It's going to be a beautiful day at the beach and a perfect time for you and a friend to learn how to Dragon Boat. That's a large canoe that fits up to 20 people, with two people on a bench. It's people-powered - we all paddle at the same time to get the boat up and moving. Our dragon boat is open to people with challenges like being blind, Deaf, an amputee, having PTSD, or other hidden challenges, as well as support paddlers. We welcome anyone 16 or older. Veterans are especially welcome. We will provide the equipment you will need. We do some warm-ups, then spend just over an hour on the water. We bring the boat up, clean it, and cover it. After practice, some of us will go out to lunch nearby. Please RSVP so we can save you a seat. Email [email protected] or text (770) 778-8154. Fill out this waiver BEFORE coming to Mother's Beach. http://tiny.cc/scdbcwaiver Yes, it may be a little cool at first, so bring a jacket. Your feet may get wet as we load from the beach, so bring water shoes or something you can wash off. Also, please bring a bottle of water.
