A WINTER CIRCUIT OF HOGHTON TOWER
We’ll follow the course of the Leeds Liverpool Canal before heading down to the River Darwen & Scenic Hoghton Bottoms. After passing under the incredible Railway Viaduct we will start our ascent towards Hoghton Village before crossing the jaw dropping Hoghton Tower Drive. A walk through fields brings us back to Riley Green & the Royal Oak. We can take refreshment here or the Hoghton Arms a few hundred metres away from our parking place.
Dress for the weather, bring lunch, water and a warm drink. Waterproofs, hat/gloves, important as is a spare sweater or fleece.
Dogs welcome 1pp up to a maximum of 3 for the group. Must be friendly, not yappy & remain under control during walk. Any extendable leads must be kept short as they are dangerous when extended.
Safety
While we take every precaution to ensure your safety on our walks (physically, psychologically & emotionally), all outdoor activities involve an inherent & unavoidable risk of an accident occurring that could lead to personal injury. Our Qualified Mountain & Walk Leaders are Certified First Aiders and carry emergency equipment to deal with emergencies. Our Leaders are also trained to dynamically alter the route or plan for the day based on numerous potential factors.
Whilst on the walk, if you feel unwell or unable to continue, or simply wish to leave the walk, you must tell the leader.
