There are no day use or parking fees at this trailhead. Water and bathrooms are available at the trailhead. and at Ross Prairie SP.

This will be a 5 hour +/- self-paced hike of about 11 miles +/-.

Meet at the Shangri-La trailhead parking area starting at 8:45 a.m.

We will step out at 9:00 a.m. heading west until reaching the Ross Prairie Loop trail intersect. We will continue heading NW (straight ahead) on the NFST until reaching the Ross Prairie connector trail intersection and then turn SW (left) heading back to Ross Prairie SP. After a break at Ross Prairie SP, we will continue again on the Loop trail beginning to work our way back to Shangri-La SP. We may even take a short detour to see the elephants on our way back to camp!

Make sure to:
wear proper hiking footwear and clothing
adequate quantity of water. 2 quarts or 2 liters highly recommended
bug spray/sunscreen
food/snacks
