Route:-Higger Tor, Carl's Wark, Over Owler Tor, Mother cap, Millstone Edge, Owler Tor, Longshaw estate woods, Burbage South, Burbage North back to the car park.

Meet at: Burbage North car park. This carpark, like most in the Peak District now, is not free, it's about £6-60 for our day if I remember, specifically for 4-6 hours I think it says. We're going to be about 5 hours I'd say anyway, possibly less!, and I think it's either contactless or phone payment. I find phone payment ridiculously annoying but probably not the worst, that's contactless payment, but we know how lazy the system is for good old coins. HOWEVER, if you can manage to get there early, there's free roadside parking by the small bridge and two more free areas just around the corner (coming from Sheffield), on The Dale (South of Stanage Edge) and just North of Higger Tor. Once we're all happy and parked at these three close proximity places, we can simply meet each other at the Higger Tor parking.

For those of you having not been around here before, this is a very interesting and fun, hike and climbing route. You may not be familiar with the area, however our regular attendees know this like riding a bike/driving a car, so if you're new to our group, you're in the best of safest hands.

I'd usually put a description of what do expect on the route, it's absolutely fine, just ask any questions you have.

Approx distance for this is 5.5miles/8.8km. Doesn't even look this long at all, but stretch it out, and it can. with a height gain of roughly 50 metres max. This meet is about 50/50 hiking and scramble - climbing. Don't be put off by me having called it scramble-climbing, I came up with this effectively climbing up a scramble, (WE ARE NOT DOING ANY ACTUAL TRAD CLIMBING, as this isn't a climbing meet) but it's always fun to do what you want to and dabble SAFELY on the rocks, (including our now famous weaseling), invented by member 'Dani', and our most notable weasels being either Michael or David Glossop, I'm sure there could be a new masters of this movement by the attendees.

Experience Required: Some previous scrambling or rock dabbling climbing experience is essential, mainly for self safety awareness, however, no ropes and therefore no climbing gear are required for this meet.

IMPORTANT disclaimer - The mother nature of the outdoors are always a hostile environment of risk of injury and even death. We will do our best to make sure you're safe at all times, and will administer basic First Aid if needs be, until emergency services may be needed, however, you must maintain your own personal safety awareness at all times. By signing up to our events, you agree to this.

Transportation pooling arrangement will be dealt with as usual nearer the time, as will be directions to the meeting place, IF you may need them.

If everybody could contribute £2 towards our Meet Up site fees and other operating costs, that will be great. Thank you.
