Join Ros for a lively discussion of The Murder at the Vicarage, the first ever Miss Marple mystery, in which queen of crime Agatha Christie introduces us to quaint English village St Mary Mead and its most unobtrusive yet observant elderly resident.

When an exceedingly disagreeable local magistrate is found shot to death in the vicar's study, the police are confounded. Nearly everyone in the village had good reason to wish the man dead, so suspects abound. But the vicar's neighbour notices far more than most. As an adept student of human nature, will Miss Marple be the only one clever enough to untangle the clues and solve the mystery?

We will meet in the Snug at the Castle Inn on Castle Hill at 7pm in the hour before IVC Pub night - feel free to stay on for drinks afterwards! The Castle is a quaint traditional pub offering a full range of drinks, including real ales and pub food.

Please bring along £1 (or £12 for the year) as a contribution to Meetup fees - this £1 is only payable by non-fully-paid members of IVC (and can be reclaimed if you decide to join the CambsIVC membership group).
Parking is free in the Shire Hall car park from 7pm.

Books to look forward to in the coming months:

Actually, I'm a Murderer by Terry Deary
A Morbid Taste for Bones by Ellis Peters
