Razor Clamming on the Oregon Coast!

Please read everything below before RSVPing, as there is a little prep involved in this amazing morning trip! Low tide (-.5) will be about 5:18pm, and we get on the beach about 1 hr beforehand. Only reason this event would be cancelled is because of severe weather.

Cost for the trip (please put in the chat if you are opting for option A, B, or C):

A) If you have your own clam gear and are going to clean your own clams, then this event is free!
B) If you just need the clam equipment but are planning on cleaning your own clams at home, it'll be $10 total for borrowing the equipment.
C) For $25 total (incl. equipment) host will clean and vacuum sealing your clams after the trip, and will coordinate a group pick up for clams (frozen) at a later date in Beaverton.
Cash, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, etc. is accepted, and can given when we arrive at the beach.

What you need before trip:

Go to Oregon's Fish and Game Website, continue as a guest or log into your account, and buy a Shellfish License.
$13 for residents (annual) and $37 for non-resident (annual), and $29 for non-resident (3-day). You must physically have your license on you (printed) or on your phone.
Bring rain boots, rain pants, rain jacket, warm layers, etc. Bring 2 light sources, at least one being a headlamp. As time gets closer we will know what the weather looks like.
If you are planning to bring your own clamming gear, this usually consists of a mesh medium bag, a clam gun or clam shovel. I encourage everyone to bring a medium plastic bag or cooler, and a throw away towel (keep them moist/cool) to put your clams in on the way back.
Instruction on how to notice the "tell" for where to dig for the clams, how to dig, etc. will be provided.

What does the day look like?

If you are carpooling, host will be at Fred Meyer off of HWY 26 (7355 NE Imbrie Dr, Hillsboro, OR 97124) at 1:45pm (will wait 10min.), \\parking nearest to bottle drop location. \Please put in the chat if you are planning to come to the carpool, \host can take 4 people. If you are carpooling with anyone, please chip in $10 for gas.
If you are driving by yourself, meet at beach parking lot entrance at 3:30pm, at Sunset Beach Ln, Warrenton, OR 97146.
We will drive our vehicles on the beach/sand to get to the clamming spot. If there is extra room in some vehicles, and you want to leave your car at the parking lot, we can carpool/figure it out.
The clam limit per person, is 15. Low tide will be -.5 at 5:18pm. We will probably be clamming for around 1-2hrs, and then we will head back to PDX.
