The year is 1884, you are the members of the "Ex Gang", a group of former enforcers for the various Rail Barons who have gravitated together partially due to your shared experiences on the battlefields of the "Great Rail Wars", but also out of an abiding love for other people's money.

Your target is the Bank of Dandridge in the podunk whistlestop town of Dandridge, Kansas. An informant in Empire Rail's accounting department has informed the gang that the month's payroll for the nearby Empire Rail gunhands is to be stored in the banks vault before being distributed. Empire Rail's enforcers are paid well so this delivery is going to total nearly $20,000, and it's being dropped off TONIGHT!

The payroll train isn't the only one on the line this evening though. Unbeknownst to the members of the gang, a mysterious unannounced train was spotted on the tracks heading towards the town a few hours ago. Even though the rail wars are officially over, the Rail Barons still get up to shenanigans on each other's lines from time to time and stealing or disrupting a payroll train is exactly the type of mischief a rival might get up to. Until Empire Rail can figure out who's riding their rails, they've decided to hold the payroll train a few stops up the line.
