My Tender Matador by Pedro Lemebel

Hello beautiful people!
This month we are travelling to 1980s Chile, where love, politics, and revolution make for some rather complicated company.

Set near the end of Pinochet’s rule, Pedro Lemebel’s My Tender Matador follows the unlikely relationship between a flamboyant, middle-aged queer sex worker known as the Queen of the Corner and a young revolutionary. Set against the backdrop of dictatorship, the novel weaves together desire, resistance, and the lives of those pushed to the margins of society.
