Nothing lasts forever is a reflection on the temporary nature of life and the things that give it meaning. Relationships, emotions, experiences, and even the people we are constantly change. While this can bring sadness, uncertainty, or fear of loss, it can also help us appreciate what we have while it's here. Knowing that things will eventually end can change how we experience the present, how we approach relationships, and how we deal with change. In this discussion, we'll explore how the impermanence of life shapes our choices, our attachments, and the way we find meaning in the things we cannot hold on to forever.

1. How does the idea that nothing lasts forever make you feel? Does it bring you more sadness, freedom, or appreciation?
2. Do you think knowing that something will end makes it more meaningful, or less?
3. How do you handle the realization that a meaningful relationship or chapter of your life has come to an end?
4. Is it harder for you to let go of something when it's still good, or when it's already become painful?
5. How do you balance appreciating what you have with accepting that you might lose it?
6. Do you think people change fundamentally over time, or is there something about us that remains constant?
7. Can knowing that something is temporary help you enjoy it more in the present?
8. Why do you think we sometimes hold on to things even when we know they're no longer right for us?
9. How does the awareness of our own mortality influence the way we live?
10. If you could make one thing in your life last forever, what would it be, and why?
11. Has accepting that nothing lasts forever changed the way you approach relationships, decisions, or life in general?

These are just some of the questions we will discuss during our meetup. No preparation needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.

The meetup will be structured in a way to promote small group discussion so everyone has a chance to listen, be heard, and really dive into the discussion.

How our discussions work

Each meetup has a clear topic and guiding questions.
We stay with them so everyone gets the conversation they came for.
This is a reflective discussion, not a debate.
The focus is understanding and exploration rather than persuasion or winning an argument.
We speak from personal experience.
Sharing is encouraged; judging, correcting, or speaking over others isn’t.
We move one question at a time.
Related thoughts are welcome when they support the question we’re exploring.
We share the space.
Everyone has a chance to speak, and no one is expected to dominate or perform.
We listen generously.
Curiosity, presence, and openness matter more than certainty.
This is a non-political, non-outrage space.
The emphasis is on reflection and connection, not debate or escalation.

We'll arrange tables of 6 participants each. When you arrive, please gather at the main atrium - we'll be at the tables between big windows and the palm trees. Once enough people are assembled, I'll escort each group of 6 to their table to begin the discussion, and continue doing this as more participants arrive.

Each table will receive a sheet containing the topic description and discussion questions. Feel free to take a photo or refer to the event page to have your own copy handy.

The official event time is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, but some of us stay longer, transitioning into informal conversations beyond the topic. You're welcome to join any other ongoing discussions once your initial group wraps up and members start leaving.
