Hey all, I want to be clear that this is an encore version of the event we had several weeks ago. So if you already attended that event, you will need to sit this one out as you'll already know the clues! This is intended for all the folks that wanted to attend and couldn't make it.

All that said, here is John's original description of the very fun event which I will be attempting to reprise for a new group of participants!! 😊

Have you been to the McNay Art Museum lately? If you have, I bet you didn't get to go with a fabulous group of free-thinkers, agnostics, atheists, skeptics and open-minded fun people. If you haven't been to the museum lately, then you are in for a double-treat--the aforementioned fabulous group, and a wonderful variety of art at the sprawling Spanish colonial former home of Marion McNay. Some of the highlights include: Diego Rivera, Georgia O'Keeffe (one of Faith's favorites), Camille Pissarro (one of my favorites), Picasso, Renoir, Max Weber and David Smith (not my uncle).

Let's hang out at the museum. Better still, let's make it a scavenger hunt! We will split up into teams of five or six. We will each have a list of artworks (maybe with a puzzle or two (don't sweat it, they will be super easy)). The winning group will be showered with fame and the wealth of fabulous prizes. Okay, you'll probably get a free dessert at Torchy's. So... like I said, showered with the wealth of fabulous prizes. After the hunt, those who are interested can grab a bite of lunch at Torchy's Tacos about 1.5 miles northwest of the McNay museum near the Alamo Quarry Market.

Must be present to win. All rights reserved. Lifetime guarantee. Copyright 2026. The views expressed by the long deceased artists are not necessarily the views of SASS or its affiliates (which do not exist). No purchase necessary. Okay, you'll need museum tickets, but otherwise, no purchase necessary. Oh, and lunch money, but otherwise, no purchase necessary.

Our lawyers made us say all that. What lawyers? SASS hasn't hired any lawyers for this event! Shhh, don't say that. Then everybody will want to come. We'll be overrun by a pressing throng of crazy art dilettantes. Oh, the humanity!

General admission for the McNay is 23 with discounts for 65+ (18), military (free), vets (free) and college students ($18).

It will be fun. The scavenger hunt will be totally low-key. You do not need to be an art aficionado, a collector or even a dilettante to enjoy this event. Come and join us, won't you?
