From Wentworth Falls station we will head down to Water Nymphs Dell (pictured above). Water Nymphs Dell is a scenic, fern-filled rainforest gully that features a charming waterfall, a shallow pool, moss-covered rocks, and a lush temperate rainforest canopy. The waterfall is most impressive after heavy rain. It is also famous for its colony of glow worms visible at night along the damp rock overhangs and near the small trickle waterfall.
After checking out Water Nymphs Dell, we will circumnavigate Wentworth Falls lake. Wentworth Falls Lake was created in 1878 to supply water for steam locomotives by damming Jamison Creek, Wentworth Falls Lake and Reserve. Today, it is a much loved manmade lake that is home to marine life as well as wildlife, including threatened species such as the Giant Dragonfly and the Blue Mountains Water Skink.
