Fundamentals of Authentic Relating - Listening and Responding
Feeling heard, understood and met is the foundation of fulfilling relationships. And that begins with listening. When we rush to respond, stay in our heads, or listen only for what we expect to hear, we miss the subtle cues that create connection. Deep listening allows us to understand what’s really being communicated, and to respond in ways that build trust rather than reinforce old patterns. This workshop is an invitation to explore how listening becomes a relational skill — how we bring presence into conversation, how we track what’s happening between us, and how thoughtful responding can transform ordinary moments into meaningful connection. You’ll learn practices based on the Authentic Relating framework (Listen, Reflect, Share impact) that help you listen with more awareness and respond in ways that create deeper understanding. Through simple, structured activities, we’ll explore what supports grounded and attuned communication, and experiment with how to: Bring more presence and noticing into how we listen Create an empathic environment for deeper connection by listening to understand, not to fix Listen beyond the words: the 3 levels of listening Recognise when to listen and when to speak Weave our experience by sharing impact The workshop is mostly experiential. You can expect a mix of structured activities in pairs or small groups (50%), facilitated reflection time (30%) and teachings (20%). We aim to foster a sense of connection, insight, and fun in/between participants. After the workshop you will be emailed session notes (a summary of teachings, prompts for self reflection, suggestions for integration in daily life etc.) TICKETS Book here Tickets start at $35. We’re committed to accessibility and offer further discount if money is a real barrier to attending.
