Sutton is an ERP for small manufacturers - it manages inventory, tracks orders, and runs production jobs. Over the last 18 months our small team of engineers turned it into something customers can extend from inside the product. Describe an app to an agent, which builds it and pushes it to our platform. It then runs in a sandboxed environment with its own backend and scoped access to the customer's own data. This talk is about the team's journey from “barely an API” to a full featured vibe-coding platform, and some of the wrong turns along the way Steve is one of the lead engineers at Sutton (formerly Digit). He's been writing software for most of his life and last gave a talk at Async 12 years ago(!) 🍕🍻 Pizza and drinks will be provided thanks to sponsorship from Puck - the open source visual editor for React. In-person attendees: Please arrive at Runway East (ground floor) between 19:00 and 19:15 for refreshments and socializing. Make sure you are registered to attend so we have an idea of numbers for catering. Remote attendees: We will start broadcasting the event at 19:30 online (link added closer to the event). there is no need to register. Don't forget to join the Async Slack for updates.
