Ali Gs Windsor to Staines & Screens: Castles, Countryside & Cinema

DESCRIPTION
Join us for a fun 10–15km walk from the grandeur of Windsor to the rather more… Ali G surroundings of Staines! 😎
We’ll set off from Windsor and make our way through beautiful countryside, Egham and the historic Runnymede area, before finishing in Staines — the legendary home of Ali G. It’s a chance to enjoy a great mix of riverside paths, woodland, open countryside and some fascinating history along the way.
And then we’ll swap walking boots for cinema seats! 🎬 We’ll finish at the cinema in Staines to watch the brand-new Ali G film together. You’re welcome to join for the walk, the film, or both, although obviously the full Windsor-to-Staines-to-screens experience is the proper way to do it. Booyakasha!

Please book your cinema tickets at the VUE cinema in Staines separately and put your seat number in the comments so others can book nearby. Or alternatively wait until the day to see and book but then risk of not getting cinema tickets. Cinema isn’t compulsory for this event.

WHAT TO EXPECT - HIKING INFO
Distance: 15kM route
\Ascent: c.\0 metres
Estimated Duration (approx): 4 hours walking
Difficulty: Easy

PROGRAMME
Meeting Point: Windsor & Eton Riverside station 10:00
Ending: Staines station late afternoon
Recommended tickets: Off peak day return to Windsor & Eton Riverside station.

COST
The cost is £12 per person for hike only.
Once you’ve RSVP’d, check the private comments section of this Meetup event for the invitation link to join the WhatsApp group. This is where we’ll share updates, and answer questions (particularly if I’m temporarily unavailable). I’ll share my live location on the day, return train times, and group photos after the event.

HIKE INCLUDES

Guided Hike planned and led by experienced AAA leader who is Lowland leader qualified, Wilderness First Aid qualified, Summer Mountain Leader trained.

CANCELLING/REFUNDS
If you can no longer join the event, please message the host and update your RSVP status on MeetUp to 'Not going', to allow others to take your place. If the event sells out, and you have messaged us and have changed your RSVP to 'Not going', please email us on [email protected]) after the event date, requesting a refund, including your PayPal email address, so we can locate the payment. Unfortunately, as PayPal retains the original transaction fee, we cannot refund this. If the hike is not full, we are sorry, we are unable to issue a refund.
