Live !!! ~ "LEOPOLDSTADT" @ EASTLINE THEATER ~ LINDENHURST

❗❗❗ GUESTS WELCOME ❗❗❗

"Leopoldstadt" is a poignant play by Tom Stoppard that chronicles the lives of a Jewish family in Vienna over several decades, exploring themes of identity, heritage, and the impact of historical events on personal lives.

Overview

"Leopoldstadt" is set in the early 20th century and follows the fictional Merz-Jacobowitz family, who are part of the prosperous Jewish community in Vienna. The play spans five acts, each set in a different year: 1899, 1900, 1924, 1938, and 1955. Through these acts, Stoppard examines the family's experiences against the backdrop of significant historical events, including the rise of anti-Semitism and the Holocaust.
