Urban Hike - Santa Monica north of Wilshire

This really is a walk more than a hike because there are no stairs and almost no hills. It will cover residential neighborhoods in Santa Monica and a bit of Brentwood. Along the way we will see a mosaic tile house, Frank Gehry's house, a park that at one time was an airstrip and aircraft factory, and lots of fantastic Spanish colonial revival houses. Dogs should be fine everywhere. Level: Intermediate Speed: About 2.5 miles per hour Distance: 6.5 miles Elevation gain: ~100 feet Duration: 3 hours Bathrooms: Public bathrooms at Douglas Park and at the Brentwood Country Market Parking: there is ample unrestricted parking on Franklin St. Rain: postpones the hike Liability: The organizer is an unpaid and untrained volunteer and is not liable for any loss, damage, or injuries sustained by participants and their guests.
