We will be visiting a surprise secret bunker en route (although I think I may have given that away in the title 🙈) but bring your spyware anyway🕵🏼♂️ 🪖
We leave @ 10:30am prompt from the Rose & Crown free car park, 60 High St, Kings Langley WD4 9HT. Please ensure you are ready to leave 10 mins before the departure time 🚙
To start, we walk up a hill (which The Grand Old Duke Of York walked his men parallel to!) to Kings Langley Palace 🕍 which is the sparse surviving medieval remains of a 13th-century royal residence used by the Plantagenet kings.
We then move through open fields to the old abandoned bunker. Once observed we’ll carry on through fields and woods 🌳 to the ancient Apostle’s Pond, with its surrounding lime trees (one for each apostle) in Chipperfield. We’ll return through country lanes and little walkways to complete an approximate 5.5-6 mile route. Will be roughly 2.5-3 hours.
For those that want to, we’ll have some nuts and lemonade in the pub at the end 🍺🥤🥜
