This is a 3.5 mile lollipop route on the north side of the Sandstone Ranch Open Space (west of I-25) with approximately 300 ft elevation gain and gentle undulation (up/down). Easy/Moderate. We'll see sandstone rock formations, pine trees, and juniper trees, while enjoying lovely vistas of nearby ranches and the Front Range. Our trailhead provides a generous parking area with porta-potties (typically very clean).
Hiking boots are recommended and (as always) best to have micro/nano spikes available in the event of snowpack/ice. Trekking poles optional. Leashed, friendly pets welcome! Carry sufficient hydration and snacks for approximately 1.5-hour hike.
