Steam railways, film locations, old mansions and quiet villages of Kent

Join us for an autumn stroll through the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as we trek from Ashurst to Eridge. This classic English countryside wander will take us through valleys, fields and quiet ancient woodlands.

We’ll pass through the charming village of Groombridge and admire Burrswood, an impressive Grade II listed Decimus Burton mansion set within gorgeous grounds, rich with local history.

We’ll pause at a stunning 17th-century moated manor house, famous for its historic formal gardens, enchanted forest, and film appearance as Longbourn in Pride & Prejudice.

Towards the end, we’ll follow the historic steam Spa Valley Railway and may even spot a vintage steam engine chugging past.

We’ll wrap up the walk with the option to relax and enjoy a well-earned drink together at a lovely country pub.

CANCELLING/REFUNDS

If you can no longer join the hike, please message the Host listed on here, and update your RSVP status to 'Not going', to allow others to take your place. If the hike is full, and you have messaged us and have changed your RSVP to 'Not going', we will refund you, less the PayPal/Meetup fees. To obtain this, please email [email protected] after the event, with the email address you use on your PayPal account and transaction reference. If the hike is not full, unfortunately we will not be able to provide any refund.
