Hike Hickory Creek Preserve, LaPorte Road Access, in Mokena, ~4 miles

We'll return to Hickory Creek, Laport Rd access, which offers a nice, 4 miles of walking on a paved trail. Perhaps we'll take a side trail for a portion of the hike; otherwise, we'll just walk down to the Frankfort Township offices (about 2 miles) and then return for a total of about 4 miles. Because ticks are rumored to be abundant this year and there are apt to be mosquitoes near the creek, you might consider bringing bug spray.

This is the Laporte Road access to the Hickory Creek Preserve, NOT Hickory Creek Junction, where we more frequently hike, so be sure to check the map if you haven't been there. Access is to the eastern segment of the Hickory Creek Bikeway.
