Thank you Carol for hosting December!
(Because November and December are busy times, we don’t hold a meeting in November but combine it with December plus hold the meeting earlier in the month.)
The Matchmaker’s Gift by Lynda Cohen Loigman: “A scrappy Jewish teenager newly arrived in 1920s New York struggles to follow her calling as a matchmaker––seventy years later, her cynical divorce-attorney granddaughter realizes she has very inconveniently inherited the family gift for matching soulmates. Both funny and moving, The Matchmaker's Gift made me smile from start to finish.” — Kate Quinn, New York Times bestselling author
If you access your books thru online libraries, be sure to check both Libby and Hoopla for availability. Some books might have a long wait time on one app but be immediately available on the other. Sometimes it even seems members experience different borrow times even when using the same app/library. Technology?!
When a new book event is published, members are encouraged to immediately check out their favorite online app for borrow status. Another option for free reading is openlibrary.org. Not all titles are listed but it is another source.
Book discussion starts promptly at 6:30 — feel free to come as early as 6pm to eat with early attendees. Look for us at the big table to the left of the entrance. If that table is taken,or if it is too loud there, check for us in the back.
Hope to see you there!
