Moonlight at the Edge of the World: Cabo Espichel

A Sunset, Moonrise & Full Moon Night Walk Join us as we journey around Cabo Espichel, where sheer limestone cliffs plunge 130 meters into the wild Atlantic. For the Romans, it was Promontorium Barbarium—the sacred boundary where the spirits resided and the sun sank into the unknown. A timeless landscape rich in history. Our walk begins by stepping into the quiet grandeur of the 18th-century sanctuary complex, where centuries of pilgrims journeyed across the mountains to honour the miraculous vision of Nossa Senhora da Pedra Mudar. As twilight approaches, we will find a quiet perch overlooking the ocean to sit for a group sunset meditation while the sky turns to soft hues of gold and amber. But the true magic unfolds after dark. Guided only by the silvery glow of the full moon rising over the headland, we will embark on a gentle stroll along the moon-illuminated coastal paths. With our senses heightened by the night and the rhythmic crash of the waves below, we will take in the wonder of the moonlight before heading home refreshed, connected, and renewed.
