Album Affairs is a monthly analogue hangout in Rotterdam for people who still buy records or like to listen to records of others.

Not a concert. Not a DJ night. Just a hangout. No expertise required. Trust your music obsession, that's all you need.

Here's exactly what happens: You arrive at the venue, a cultural space with character chosen specifically for this hangout. The theme is one word, announced before, so you've had time to think about which track fits.

At the start you meet the host and if you brought one, hand over your record. One by one, someone puts on a track. It plays in full. The host asks the room: "what did you hear?" You talk about it in small groups while another track plays softly in the background. Then the next record goes on.

Drinks come after. By then, you have plenty to talk about.

Come solo! 90% of people do. You're never standing by yourself, the record and the theme do the social work for you.

The venue: they are not just locations. They are cultural spaces with its own character, chosen because the room fits the ritual. The group is small, the atmosphere is intimate, and the music is yours for the evening.
