Campaign Overview: The Rebuilding of Minkai
This game is currently full.
Our ongoing Pathfinder 2e (Remastered) campaign is rooted in Tian Xia, in the storied empire of Minkai — a setting built on themes of honor, duty, and the long, slow work of rebuilding a nation after the fall of a tyrant. Its story has since carried our heroes clear across the world, but its heart has never left home.
The Jade Regent is gone. Empress Amatatsu Ameiko sits on the throne, and for ten years she has been quietly, stubbornly dismantling the corruption her predecessor left behind. The empire is healing, but healing is slow — and the rot runs deeper than anyone in the Imperial Palace wants to admit.
The player characters began their careers as agents of the Imperial Survey, traveling Minkai’s provinces to restore order, investigate supernatural threats, and serve the empire from the ground up. An undercover assignment inside the Imperial Trade Ministry proved them, and the Empress made them the founding members of the Onmitsu — a hidden hand that serves the Throne from the shadows. Now they are across the sea in Oppara, capital of Taldor, learning spycraft from the legendary (and quietly fracturing) Lion Blades as members of the Rhapsodic faction.
Last Session: Fourteen Years Too Early
Our spies went to sleep in Taldor as seasoned 11th-level agents. They woke up in their nightclothes in a little inn called the Rusty Dragon, in a rainy Lost Coast town called Sandpoint — fourteen years in the past, suddenly level 1, each clutching a warm sliver of green jade. The cheerful 23-year-old innkeeper bringing them breakfast was Ameiko Kaijitsu. She had no idea she would one day be their Empress, and they could not tell her.
Someone had gone back in time to unmake her before she ever learned who she was. In one wild session, the party:
Caught a shapeshifting oni wearing the town clerk’s face while forging Ameiko’s family records — and found the real clerk tied up in the cellar
Brawled with a thief in Ameiko’s kitchen while the whole tavern belted out a drinking song next door
Tailed a suspicious tea-and-fireworks merchant (enormous nose, mortal terror of ducks) through the waterfront and into a smugglers’ tavern
Talked down an undead samurai guarding his lord’s sword in a marsh cave, rather than fighting him
Won a packed tavern-room hearing in front of the mayor, saving Ameiko’s inheritance — and, quietly, the future of an empire
They left behind a single gold coin stamped with a crest Ameiko wouldn’t recognize for years. Then they woke up back in Taldor at 12th level, with a letter waiting from the Empress: “I knew your faces the moment I saw them. You knew what I was before I did, and you never said a word.”
That’s the kind of game this is: big swings, real stakes, plenty of laughs at the table, and moments that pay off sessions later.
System: Pathfinder 2e (Remastered), rules as written
Tone: Honor-based political intrigue, investigation, and combat in equal measure. Think less dungeon crawl, more carefully dismantling a conspiracy from the inside — with the occasional time-travel detour.
Schedule: Bi-weekly, every other Saturday
Current Level: 12th, with a long arc still ahead
To join this game you will need: A laptop, a licensed copy of Pathbuilder 2e ($5), and availability every other Saturday.
Please get in touch before joining. Because this campaign is well underway, new players will need to review the current arc, work through character creation with the GM, and get up to speed on the world before sitting down at the table. That conversation happens before anything else.
This game is currently full.
