Winter wine festival in Carlbad

Carlsbad, NM - Friday, December 4th - 6th
This trip is for males and females. Males and females will not be sharing suites, however.

This trip was planned already, but others are welcome to join! If you change your mind or unexpectedly cannot join, please cancel in Meetup as there is a waitlist.

Friday, 12/4 - Depart ABQ from ABQ Sunport at 11:45 am via Contour airline.
Have lunch on arrival.
Check into the hotel at 3:00.
Get ready for Carlsbad Winter Wine Festival
starting at 5:30 and ending at 9:30. Food will be available to purchase at the event.

Please note tickets for wine festival will not be available for purchase until early November so event is not a guarantee. When tickets are available for purchase, information will be posted. Please make every effort to buy tickets the minute they go on sale.

1. Hotel information: rooms will be booked at the TownPlace Suites in Carlsbad. A two-bedroom suite is $304 per night and a one bedroom suite is $257.00 per night; price includes tax and fees. Please let us know if you have someone to share the 2-bed suite with or if you want a 1-bed suite or plan to stay elsewhere or you can see if someone is interested in sharing suite. Payment will need to be made to Donna, if you want her to book suite. Some are booking their own rooms. You are not obliged to stay at Towne suites.

Friday, December 4th- check in at hotel at 3 pm. Winter wine festival starts at 5:30 pm and food will be available for purchase at the winter wine festival. Tickets for event do not go on sale until early November. Donna can get tickets if you wish and you can reimburse her. Depending on when you arrive in Carlsbad, we can gather for lunch.

Saturday, December 5th - Breakfast at the hotel. Uber or taxi to Carlsbad Caverns around 10:30 a.m., about a thirty minute drive. Entry fee is $15.00. I’ll reserve for our group and you can pay me back or you can reserve your slot at Carlsbad caverns for the 11:30 am time slot. You can get tickets at www.nps.gov. Carlsbad cavern entry must be scheduled/reserved per site and you cannot reserve slot until 30 days in advance on 11/5/26.

Depart around 1:30 p.m. and enjoy linch.
Return to the hotel around 3:00 p.m.
Christmas on the Pecos boat ride, time TBA - depends on tickets and which boat is available ( preferably the Pecos Diamond, which holds ten people, costs $30 per ticket; ) First departure is at 6:15 and is forty-five minutes long.
Dinner afterwards at a local restaurant.

Sunday, December 6th - Depart around 8:30 am via Contour airline or via your car. If you fly, you should arrive in ABQ at 9:45 am.
